Google has rolled out a new artificial intelligence feature called “Skills” for the Chrome browser. This innovative addition empowers users to save and reuse frequently used AI prompts, which can be seamlessly applied across various webpages. The Skills feature serves as a perfect complement to the already integrated Gemini AI functionality. While Gemini assists users in tasks such as asking questions on webpages, Skills takes it a step further by enabling users to invoke the prompts they have created with just a single click.

To utilize this feature, users can save prompts from their chat history as Skills. Later, they can reuse these prompts by simply typing a slash or clicking the plus sign within Chrome's Gemini interface. Moreover, these skills are fully editable, allowing users to tailor them according to their specific needs.

Early adopters of this feature are primarily leveraging it in scenarios such as health and wellness, as well as shopping price comparisons. Recognizing the potential of this feature, Google is also set to launch a Skills library. This library will offer a range of templates for users to add, use, or customize, further enhancing the functionality and versatility of the Skills feature.

In order to ensure user control and privacy, Skills will request user confirmation before performing specific actions. This feature is being gradually rolled out starting from today to Chrome desktop users who are logged into their Google accounts. Initially, it will only support American English, with plans to expand to other languages in the future.
