On April 14 (local time), Broadcom Inc. and Meta announced a multi-year, multi-generation strategic collaboration aimed at supporting Meta's rapid expansion of its artificial intelligence computing infrastructure. Building on their existing partnership, Broadcom will provide technical support for Meta's Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) chips, with both parties planning to extend their collaboration through 2029. This technology will serve as the core infrastructure foundation for Meta's deployment of cutting-edge AI data centers, with the initial phase of collaboration exceeding 1 gigawatt in scale. Given the expanded scope of the collaboration, Hock Tan will step down from his role as a Meta director and transition to an advisory position, providing guidance on Meta's customized chip roadmap.
