Elon Musk has escalated his legal action against OpenAI, filing a lawsuit aimed at thwarting its shift towards becoming a for-profit entity. He is calling for the dismissal of OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, along with President Greg Brockman, and is seeking a court order to revert OpenAI to its original status as a non-profit research organization. Should his lawsuit prove successful, any damages awarded would be earmarked for the company's charitable division. Musk has articulated that his objective is to safeguard the public charity, which he co-established and initially backed, from falling under the sway of private, profit-driven entities. Earlier, OpenAI's Chief Strategy Officer had called upon the Attorney General to probe Musk for possible 'unethical and anti-competitive conduct.' Moreover, Musk has also initiated legal proceedings against OpenAI and Microsoft, alleging that they have strayed from their foundational mission by accepting financial backing from Microsoft and intending to undergo restructuring. He has further hinted at pursuing damages amounting to as much as $134 billion.
