On March 26, during the 2026 Annual Conference of the Zhongguancun Forum, Tang Jian, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, made a significant announcement. The center has officially initiated its Embodied AI Open Source and Open Ecosystem Development Initiative. This groundbreaking program will involve collaboration with partners to collectively construct an industry-leading open ecosystem for embodied AI. It will encompass the entire spectrum of open-source and open-access activities, including developer training, industrial applications, technological infrastructure, standard testing, and pilot production services. Tang Jian emphasized that this initiative aligns with the national 'AI+' strategy and adheres to the principles of 'whole-machine leadership, intelligent evolution, and scenario-driven promotion.' It is designed to tackle challenges such as technological barriers, data silos, and inconsistent interfaces, thereby fostering collaborative industrial growth.
