On March 25, Zhang Chaoyang, the founder of Sohu, made a noteworthy remark at an event held in Hong Kong. He emphasized that language, as a tool for communication, exchange, and contemplation, plays a pivotal role in fostering brain development. The human brain is inherently adept at posing questions and seeking answers, a process that constitutes the most effective mode of thinking. In contrast, he pointed out, AI primarily functions by replicating pre-existing human knowledge. Zhang Chaoyang cautioned that if individuals rely exclusively on AI to assimilate information without engaging in fresh thinking and questioning, their cognitive faculties may gradually diminish. Therefore, he urged, in the age of AI, people should set aside their devices and AI tools, and instead, harness their own intellectual capabilities to think critically and solve problems.
