On March 25, 2026, news broke that Amazon had acquired humanoid robot startup Fauna Robotics, with the financial terms of the deal kept under wraps. Fauna's star product, Sprout, towers at around 107 cm and tips the scales at approximately 23 kg. Crafted to be both lightweight and cuddly, Sprout is capable of walking, grasping items, engaging with humans, and even cutting a rug on the dance floor. With a price tag of $50,000, it's positioned as a humanoid robot that's accessible to consumers, businesses, and developers alike. Around 50 staff members from Fauna will transition to Amazon, and the company will carry on operating under the banner 'Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company.'
