Microsoft is bringing in a top artificial intelligence research team from the Allen Institute for AI (Ai2) in Seattle and the University of Washington (UW), including former Ai2 CEO Ali Farhadi. Farhadi took over as CEO of Ai2 on July 31, 2023, after previously serving as Apple's head of machine learning and co-founding Xnor.ai (acquired by Apple in 2020). This move aims to strengthen Microsoft's research capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence.
