According to the latest data from OpenRouter, the world’s largest API aggregation platform for AI models, global usage of AI large models surged to 20.4 trillion tokens from March 16 to 22, marking a week-over-week increase of 20.7%. Notably, China’s AI large models accounted for 7.359 trillion tokens in weekly usage during this period—a staggering 56.9% week-over-week growth. This marks the third consecutive week that China has outpaced the United States, with the top four most-used models worldwide now originating from China.
