On March 17, 2026, the Linux Foundation announced that it had received a total of $12.5 million in funding from six technology companies: Anthropic, Amazon AWS, GitHub, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. The funds will be jointly managed by its Alpha-Omega project and the Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) to help free and open-source software (FOSS) maintainers address low-quality security vulnerability reports generated by AI, improving the efficiency of report classification and handling.
