On March 9, 2026, Insilico Medicine, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical technology company driven by generative AI, announced a strategic collaboration with Liquid AI, a company specializing in Liquid Foundation Models (LFM), to jointly launch a lightweight scientific foundation model for pharmaceutical research, named LFM2-2.6B-MMAI (v0.2.1). Based on only 2.6 billion parameters, this model achieves industry-leading performance in multiple drug discovery benchmark tests under local deployment conditions, surpassing models with 10 times the number of parameters, and can cover several key subtasks and application scenarios.
