On March 8, an account named 'OpenClaw Official Weibo' made its debut on Sina Weibo, boasting verification details that linked it to the 'OpenClaw Open Source Community.' This action immediately drew the interest of the domestic technology community. Notably, several leading AI large-model companies engaged with the account, leading some media outlets to speculate that OpenClaw was making an official foray into the Chinese market. However, Peter Steinberg, the visionary behind the OpenClaw project, refuted the account's official status. He clarified that he had never personally registered a Weibo account and that the account in question was not managed by the official OpenClaw team. Furthermore, Steinberg debunked the legitimacy of related accounts on other Chinese social media platforms, like Bilibili, stressing that any social media presence claiming to be 'official' should be regarded as fraudulent.
