However, project founder Peter Steinberg responded that the Weibo account and related accounts on platforms like Bilibili are not officially owned, emphasizing that any social media pages labeled 'official' without account ownership are counterfeit. OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent project established in late 2025, rapidly gained popularity in the global developer community starting in early 2026.
