Over the past year, the Codex Open Source Fund has provided $1 million in financial assistance to projects requiring API support. Developers who receive the free subscription can utilize tools like Codex to write code, with some also gaining access to the Codex Security tool. This funding initiative does not set rigid criteria such as the number of Stars or monthly downloads; developers only need to meet one of the conditions: being a 'core maintainer of an open source project' or 'responsible for maintaining and developing widely used public projects' to apply. If they do not fully meet the criteria but play a significant role in the open source ecosystem and provide reasons, they can also submit an application.
