On March 6th, CNBC reported that Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, indirectly criticized his competitor Anthropic on Thursday. He stated that if companies were to abandon their commitment to democratic processes merely because some individuals were dissatisfied with the current leaders in power, it would be detrimental to society. Previously, Anthropic had been identified as a supply chain risk for refusing the U.S. military's request to utilize AI technology in mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. This refusal prompted Trump to issue an order instructing federal agencies to cease using Anthropic's technology. Subsequently, OpenAI entered into an AI cooperation agreement with the U.S. military, which sparked widespread controversy.
