Meta CFO Susan Li revealed that despite Meta's recent signing of significant agreements with top chip manufacturers, the company remains committed to independently developing chips, aiming to create processors capable of training future AI models. She stated that Meta is starting with sorting and recommendation workloads to deploy custom chips on a large scale and plans to gradually expand their application range, ultimately using them for AI model training. As one of the largest operators of data centers for training and running AI models, Meta has already reached procurement agreements with companies like Nvidia and AMD, but at the same time, it is actively advancing the research and development of its own AI processors to meet the chip demands of different tasks.
