According to sources with insider knowledge, OpenAI, a prominent artificial intelligence company based in the United States, is in the process of contemplating a contract with NATO. This contract would entail the deployment of its cutting-edge AI technology across NATO’s ‘unclassified’ networks. This strategic move comes hot on the heels of OpenAI’s recent agreement with the U.S. Pentagon, where they agreed to implement AI technology within classified networks.
Earlier, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, had outlined intentions to extend the technology’s reach to NATO’s classified networks. However, a spokesperson from the company subsequently provided clarification, stating that the extent of their collaboration would be confined to ‘unclassified networks’ only.
