On the cusp of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference sessions, Feng Jianghua, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the chief scientist at CRRC, articulated that as we look ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan and beyond, the influence of AI on rail transit is poised to be both revolutionary and transformative. The sector must embrace an open-minded approach to foster the innovative development of 'AI + rail transit,' with intelligent, self-contained trains and large-scale models tailored for rail transit emerging as two pivotal avenues. Presently, the intelligent evolution of rail transit is marked by characteristics such as independent innovation spanning the entire supply chain. Take, for instance, the auxiliary driving system developed by the CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, which has been routinely implemented in 10,000-ton heavy-haul trains. Moreover, the new-generation high-speed train, CR450, has made significant breakthroughs in several key intelligent technologies. Looking forward, the rail transit industry will strive for higher speeds, intelligent perception of all elements, and full-scenario autonomous driving capabilities, all while achieving independent research, development, and control over core chips.
