On Tuesday, OpenAI officially rolled out its latest default model, GPT‑5.3 Instant, and initiated the update process for all ChatGPT users. In comparison to its predecessor, GPT‑5.2 Instant, the new model boasts a significant reduction—up to 26.8%—in the error rate of "hallucinations" during high-stakes scenarios. Moreover, it markedly decreases instances of unwarranted refusals and overly didactic disclaimer introductions. As for GPT‑5.2 Instant, it will be relocated to the "Legacy Models" section, accessible solely to subscribers, with plans for its official discontinuation set for June 3.
