In March 2026, Anthropic's AI programming tool, Claude Code, introduced an official voice mode. After entering the /voice command, users can press and hold the spacebar to speak, enabling real-time transcription of speech into text. It also supports mixed input, allowing users to type while speaking, without the need for additional plugins. This feature is natively integrated into existing workflows, compatible with CLI terminal development, PR reviews, and multitasking scenarios. It frees up hands and enhances collaboration efficiency, making it particularly suitable for quickly describing complex logic, reporting bugs, or planning projects. Currently, the feature is being gradually rolled out and has been pushed to approximately 5% of users, with plans to expand coverage in the coming weeks.
