According to reports, U.S. officials are considering restricting the number of AI chips that a single Chinese company can purchase, stipulating that each Chinese enterprise can buy a maximum of 75,000 NVIDIA H200 chips. Shipments of AMD's similarly performing MI325 chips will also be counted toward the total for the same customer. Additionally, the U.S. may maintain a framework limiting overall AI chip exports to China to a maximum of 1 million units. Under these dual controls, even if large tech companies place substantial orders, they will find it difficult to acquire large quantities of chips at once, and their actual deployment scales will be constrained.
