On March 3, a netizen going by the handle 'Mengxi Shuilema' took to a social media platform, leveling accusations against Meituan's AI browser, Tabbit. The claim was that Tabbit had plagiarized code from their personal product, Peiduwa. To bolster their assertion, the netizen presented a side-by-side comparison of the interfaces of both products.
The netizen further elaborated that, in accordance with the GNU General Public License (GPL) agreement, any product utilizing their code is obligated to be open-source. However, Meituan has not made Tabbit open-source.
It's worth noting that Tabbit is an AI-native browser that was rolled out by Meituan's Guangnian Zhiwai team on March 2. Its primary focus is on enhancing office efficiency, and it is currently in a free public beta phase. As of the time this article was written, Meituan had not issued any response regarding this matter.
