Alibaba has officially made the Qwen3.5 compact model series open-source, encompassing four distinct models: Qwen3.5-0.8B, 2B, 4B, and 9B. Built upon the Qwen3.5 architecture, this series boasts inherent multimodal functionalities, reduces deployment complexities, and is ideally suited for scenarios with limited resources, thereby facilitating the broad adoption of large-scale models on end-user devices. Following the model’s unveiling, Musk lauded its “remarkable intelligence.” Presently, the Qwen3.5 compact models can be downloaded from platforms such as ModelScope, granting developers the freedom to utilize them for commercial purposes without any cost.
