In his 'Power On' newsletter, journalist Mark Gurman reveals that Apple is set to unveil a new framework, 'Core AI', at the upcoming WWDC 2026, which will supersede the current Core ML. This strategic shift is designed to enable developers to seamlessly incorporate cutting-edge AI capabilities into iOS 27 apps, thereby minimizing reliance on third-party resources and eliminating the need to develop tools from the ground up. Core AI will offer enhanced support for AI technologies, including large language models and diffusion models. Moreover, it might leverage the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to facilitate the integration of third-party AI models.
