On February 28th, the Annual Conference on Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligence Standardization (HEIS) took place in Beijing. This marked the inaugural annual conference since the formation of the Technical Committee for Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligence Standardization under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in December 2025. The event served as a pivotal platform, uniting a diverse array of participants including government agencies, businesses, research organizations, and investors, to collectively deliberate on initiatives aimed at standardizing the industry.
During the conference, the Standard System for Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligence (2026 Edition) was formally introduced. This milestone represents China's inaugural, all-encompassing top-tier standard blueprint, spanning the entire industrial supply chain and the complete lifecycle of humanoid robots. It heralds the industry's official transition into a fresh era characterized by standardized growth. The standard system is structured into six key segments: fundamental principles, brain-inspired and intelligent computing paradigms, limb and component specifications, whole-machine and system guidelines, application protocols, and safety and ethical standards.
