Apple has asked a federal judge to dismiss a proposed class-action lawsuit. The lawsuit accuses Apple of defrauding shareholders twice: first, by exaggerating the artificial intelligence capabilities of its voice assistant Siri, and second, by making false statements regarding compliance with a court injunction on app sales commissions. In a filing submitted to the federal court in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, Apple stated that there is no evidence to suggest that during its June 2024 discussion on artificial intelligence, it knew that integrating two advanced AI features into Siri would take longer than expected and could potentially impact iPhone 16 sales.
