According to a report by The Information on February 26th, Pang Ruoming, former head of Apple's AI foundational model team and a core member of Meta's superintelligence lab, has officially left Meta to join OpenAI after months of active recruitment by the latter. Despite Meta offering him a compensation package exceeding $200 million, Pang Ruoming still chose to join OpenAI.
