TechCrunch reports that Anthropic has acquired Seattle-based AI startup Vercept, marking another move following its acquisition of the coding engine Bun in December last year, aimed at further strengthening Claude Code's positioning in the agent domain. Vercept's technology will fill Anthropic's gap in visual understanding, enhancing Claude's computer usage capabilities to enable it to more reliably complete complex, multi-step, cross-application tasks.
