As reported by techafricanews, Talksign, an AI enterprise boasting dual headquarters in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, has recently introduced its inaugural sign language translation model, Talksign-1. Leveraging camera input, this innovative model is capable of instantaneously transforming American Sign Language (ASL) into spoken words or written text within a mere 100 milliseconds. Moreover, it facilitates the bidirectional generation of sign language videos. Trained on the comprehensive WLASL2000 dataset, Talksign-1 attains an impressive 84.7% accuracy in discerning individual gestures and can accurately recognize a vocabulary of 250 ASL terms.
