In the first week of the Spring Festival travel rush (from February 2nd to 8th), AutoNavi Maps harnessed Beidou satellite positioning technology over 3.77 trillion times, supporting users with a cumulative navigation distance exceeding 34 billion kilometers. Its ‘Eagle Eye Protection’ early warning system issued more than 1.14 billion safety alerts during this period, reaching nearly 100 million users. On February 8th alone, the system dispatched over 220 million warnings. Notably, on February 6th, when a rear-end collision occurred on a highway in Jiangsu, the ‘Eagle Eye Alert’ system swiftly coordinated with traffic police, who arrived at the scene within five minutes. Meanwhile, the system automatically sent warnings to vehicles trailing behind. In terms of travel patterns, the number of navigation activations between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM saw a 12% year-on-year increase, reflecting a pronounced shift toward off-peak travel. Ride-sharing has emerged as a popular supplementary option for short-distance, cross-city trips home, with routes most frequently sought among urban clusters. Additionally, requests related to ‘carrying luggage’ and ‘bringing pets’ have surged, becoming high-frequency needs among travelers.
