The 57th Statistical Report on Internet Development in China has been released, indicating that as of December 2025, China’s internet user base has expanded to 1.125 billion, with internet penetration exceeding 80%. The digital economy has shown steady growth, with the added value of core industries rising to 10.5% of GDP, and the pace of industrial digital transformation has been accelerating. The user base for generative AI has soared to 602 million, with its applications permeating both daily life and production sectors. Regarding new infrastructure, 4.838 million 5G base stations have been constructed, extending 5G coverage to all townships and 95% of administrative villages nationwide. Furthermore, 42 intelligent computing clusters, each with ten thousand cards, have been established, bolstering the rapid development of the AI industry.
