On February 4, the three major U.S. stock indices ended the trading day with varied performances. The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted a gain of 0.53%, whereas the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 registered declines of 1.51% and 0.51%, respectively. The technology sector experienced a broad sell-off, with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) witnessing a steep drop of over 17%, marking its most significant single-day decline since 2017. Other tech giants such as Nvidia, Tesla, and Meta also saw their shares fall by more than 3%. Amazon's stock declined by over 2%, and Google's shares dipped by more than 1%. In contrast, Apple stood out as an exception, with its stock rising by over 2%. Among the popular Chinese concept stocks, most saw declines: Bilibili's shares fell by more than 6%, NetEase's by over 5%, and Baidu's by more than 4%. Alibaba, NIO, and XPeng Motors each experienced a drop of over 2%, while JD.com and Pinduoduo saw declines of over 1%. Li Auto, however, bucked the downward trend, with its stock rising slightly by over 1%.
