On February 3, 2026, the 16th General Meeting of the China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance convened in Shijingshan District, Beijing. Gan Xiaobin, Deputy Director-General of the Science and Technology Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, emphasized during the meeting that the ministry is prioritizing the manufacturing sector as the primary arena for harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI). It is fully dedicated to advancing the integration of "AI + manufacturing."

Looking ahead, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has outlined four pivotal tasks:

  • First, fortify the application foundation by achieving breakthroughs in key technologies, including computing chips and industrial large models.
  • Second, enhance the application ecosystem by reinforcing standardization leadership and nurturing an open-source culture.
  • Third, broaden international collaboration by actively engaging in industrial exchanges through multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, BRICS, and ASEAN.
  • Fourth, strengthen application governance by innovating security governance tools and bolstering industry self-regulation.

Simultaneously, there is an anticipation that the Alliance will assume a more prominent role in constructing a more competitive industrial ecosystem.
