On February 3rd, news emerged that the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS) had recently inked a strategic cooperation pact with China Telecom's Guangdong Branch. The aim is to jointly establish the "Embodied Intelligence Industry Ecosystem Alliance."
Under this agreement, both entities will zero in on pivotal areas. These encompass technological integration, collaboration on data and computing power, as well as the co-construction of an industrial ecosystem. Their joint efforts will be directed towards developing 5G+embodied intelligent industrial robots. These robots are set to play a crucial role in bolstering the construction of smart factories and dark factories. (Here, "dark factories" refer to highly automated factories that can operate with minimal human intervention, often running in low-light or even completely dark conditions, relying heavily on advanced robotics and automation technologies.)
Furthermore, by capitalizing on China Telecom's intelligent computing resources and AIRS's technological prowess, the two sides will collaborate to incubate industrial projects. They will also establish an AI+robotics innovation incubation platform. In addition, they plan to take part in formulating industry plans for AI and robotics in both Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City. Ultimately, their shared goal is to construct an autonomous and controllable embodied intelligence industrial cluster.
