Google has recently rolled out the 'Auto Browse' feature, driven by Gemini AI, in the desktop version of its Chrome browser. Initially, this innovative tool is accessible to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers located in the United States. Designed to streamline online activities, the 'Auto Browse' feature is adept at handling multifaceted tasks on behalf of users. These tasks encompass searching for airfare and hotel deals, scheduling appointments, completing online forms, and managing subscriptions. Notably, it supports the integration of information across different webpages and offers real-time interactive feedback.
Upon receiving user commands in natural language, Gemini takes charge, directly navigating Chrome to accomplish the specified tasks while providing simultaneous updates on the progress. In terms of user interface enhancements, Gemini has transitioned from a pop-up window to a fixed panel on the right side of the screen. This design modification enables users to effortlessly access data from Gmail, Calendar, Maps, and other Google services within the side panel, facilitating smoother operations.
For instance, when a user inputs the command, "Organize key financial data from Company A's earnings report," Gemini springs into action. It can automatically extract pertinent meeting details from past emails, recommend flights based on Google Flights information, and even draft a notification email automatically after a booking is made. This level of automation and integration represents a significant leap forward in enhancing user productivity and online experience.
