On January 28, 2026, the National Medical Products Administration announced that to meet urgent regulatory needs and promote the high-quality development of medical devices utilizing brain-computer interface technology, it has approved the initiation of projects for the formulation and revision of two industry standards for medical devices: "Medical Devices Utilizing Brain-Computer Interface Technology - Paradigm Design and Application Specifications - Motor Function Reconstruction" and "Medical Devices Utilizing Brain-Computer Interface Technology - Invasive Devices - Reliability Verification Methods".
