According to CCTV News, since the beginning of 2025, an unidentified group of fraudsters has been using AI to generate fake videos, impersonating King Philippe of Belgium and his core advisors. Through emails, phone calls, and instant messaging software, they have targeted foreign politicians, business leaders, and local families with close ties to the Belgian royal family to carry out fraud. Recently, the group has also sent fake 'video interviews' or 'dinner invitations' in the name of the king to Belgian business executives, demanding payment of 'sponsorship fees.' Most victims have seen through the scam, but at least one person has been deceived. Currently, the Belgian Federal Prosecutor is working with a specialized team from the Federal Police to investigate the case.
