As reported by Bloomberg, the esteemed AI expert Fei-Fei Li is currently in the midst of negotiating a fresh funding round for her startup, World Labs. The company is aiming for a valuation of roughly $5 billion and is seeking up to $500 million in this round. Should the funding effort come to fruition, World Labs will see its valuation leap from $1 billion in 2024 to $5 billion, marking a staggering fivefold surge within a single year.
World Labs is committed to creating AI tools that can adeptly navigate and make decisions in three-dimensional spaces. The company is in the process of constructing 'Large World Models' and has already rolled out its inaugural product, Marble. Prior to this, World Labs had secured a cumulative total of $230 million in funding. Its existing investors comprise prominent names such as Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, Radical Ventures, and the venture capital division of NVIDIA.
