In the past year, OpenAI has discreetly set up a humanoid robot laboratory. Since its inception in February 2025, the lab has grown to more than four times its original size. Occupying the same building as the finance team, this laboratory now boasts around 100 data collectors. Currently, it is engaged in training robotic arms to perform household tasks, as part of its broader strategy to develop humanoid robots. Moreover, OpenAI is also working on several new hardware initiatives, including robotics projects. However, all these projects are still in their nascent stages of development and do not constitute a core part of the company's primary mission.
