Thanks to enhanced model quality, Google's sales of the Gemini AI model have witnessed explosive growth over the past year. On January 19 (local time), The Information, drawing on internal Google data, reported a rapid surge in API calls for Gemini through Google Cloud. The figures reveal that from March of the previous year, when Gemini 2.5 was launched, to August, API calls skyrocketed from roughly 35 billion to about 85 billion, marking a twofold increase.
