On January 15, Reuters broke the news that Henry Aguda, the Secretary of the Philippines' Department of Information and Communications Technology, announced the country's decision to ban Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok. The rationale behind this move lies in Grok's capacity to generate sexually suggestive images, some of which contain content that could potentially endanger the safety of children.

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center has joined forces with the National Telecommunications Commission to implement the ban on this app. Secretary Aguda mentioned that despite Grok having a relatively limited user base in the Philippines, the authorities are determined to resolve this issue promptly, with the ban expected to take effect within the current week.

It's worth noting that prior to this, both Indonesia and Malaysia have already imposed restrictions on Grok's accessibility, citing similar concerns.
