On January 14, Elon Musk's social media platform, X, released a statement declaring that it would impose limitations on the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, barring it from generating nude images of real individuals. Previously, owing to insufficient platform oversight, Grok had been exploited to produce online pornographic images, some of which even involved child pornography. This misuse triggered widespread criticism and boycotts from numerous countries. The security team of the X Platform stated that it had introduced technical safeguards to stop Grok from manipulating images of real people dressed in revealing attire. This restriction is applicable to all users, encompassing paid subscribers as well. In tandem, the team is working tirelessly to implement additional protective measures, expunge content that violates guidelines, and, when necessary, permanently ban accounts, all in collaboration with local governments and law enforcement bodies.
