The Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR) at Tsinghua University, working in tandem with pertinent departments and research teams, has triumphantly created DrugCLIP—an AI-powered, ultra-high-throughput virtual drug screening platform. This innovative platform dramatically accelerates the screening process, achieving a millionfold increase in speed relative to conventional approaches, while simultaneously enhancing prediction accuracy. It stands as the first instance of accomplishing virtual drug screening on a human genome scale, encompassing around 10,000 protein targets and 20,000 protein pockets. The platform has meticulously analyzed and screened in excess of 500 million drug-like small molecules, uncovering over 2 million potentially active molecules. Furthermore, it has established the largest known protein-ligand screening database thus far, which is readily available to the global scientific research community at no cost. The pertinent research findings have been published in the esteemed journal Science.
