According to an official announcement, on January 8, 2026, the Tencent Hunyuan team officially made the large-scale text-to-3D-motion model, HY-Motion 1.0, available as open-source software. This model, which packs a staggering one billion parameters, is capable of generating standardized skeletal animations from textual descriptions. It effectively tackles the long-standing challenges of limited 3D character animation resources and exorbitant production costs. By doing so, it significantly lowers the technical barriers to entry, empowering creators across the gaming, animation, and digital human sectors. The model encompasses over 200 motion categories spanning six major domains. Its motion quality, coherence, and ability to accurately follow instructions have reached an advanced standard within the industry.
