On January 5, 2026, Shenzhen hosted an on-site project promotion event for the year 2026. During this event, 222 new projects were initiated simultaneously, boasting a cumulative investment of around 157.34 billion yuan. Notably, the "Pan-Video Technology R&D Headquarters" project, situated in Yuehai Subdistrict, Nanshan District, has been designated as Douyin's second headquarters. This headquarters will primarily focus on bolstering the research and development endeavors for key products such as Douyin and Toutiao, in addition to fostering new ventures like payment services. Furthermore, it will encompass the simultaneous establishment of a ByteDance AI Lab Research Center and a SaaS Platform Service Center.
