At the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show, Boston Dynamics announced that its humanoid robot Atlas would officially enter commercial production and be deployed on a large scale for the first time in the manufacturing facilities of Hyundai Motor Group. Hyundai Motor also plans to deploy the robot at its robotics meta-factory application center in the coming months. Boston Dynamics has collaborated with Google DeepMind to integrate the artificial intelligence foundational model of Gemini Robotics into Atlas to enhance its intelligence. Compared to Tesla's Optimus, Atlas has made significant progress. Its commercial version is equipped with self-learning capabilities, 360-degree vision, and a design that emphasizes safety when working alongside humans. The CEO of Boston Dynamics stated that Atlas would revolutionize industrial production methods and lay the foundation for the development of smart home robots, with the company being highly confident in its commercialization prospects.
