According to reliable reports, as OpenAI endeavors to solidify its dominant position in the artificial intelligence landscape, it has witnessed a notable uptick in the profit margin of its paid offerings this year. The company's "computing profit margin," an internal indicator that gauges the proportion of revenue remaining after subtracting the expenses associated with running models for enterprise and consumer product users who pay, has shown improvement.
Insiders with knowledge of the situation revealed that as of October, OpenAI's computing profit margin had surged to 70%. This marks a significant increase from the 52% recorded at the close of 2024 and represents a doubling of the margin compared to January 2024. When approached for comment, an OpenAI spokesperson clarified that the company does not publicly disclose such financial metrics and chose not to provide any additional remarks.
