On December 18, at the 2025 Original Power Conference, Volcano Engine formally unveiled Doubao Large Model 1.8. This latest iteration boasts significantly upgraded multimodal agent functionalities. It not only supports handling ultra-long contexts of up to 256K characters but also comes equipped with native API context management features. Moreover, it demonstrates exceptional performance in tackling complex, multi-step tasks. Tan Dai, the President of Volcano Engine, disclosed that as of December this year, the Doubao Large Model has witnessed a staggering daily average call volume exceeding 50 trillion, marking a remarkable 417-fold surge since its initial release.
