On December 13, 2025, Google made an exciting announcement: the launch of a real-time earphone translation beta feature within the Google Translate app. With this innovative addition, users can simply put on any pair of earphones, choose their desired target language via the app, and instantly hear the translated audio. This remarkable function supports over 70 languages and encompasses more than 2,000 language pairs. What sets it apart is its ability to retain the speaker's unique tone, accent, and speech tempo, thereby facilitating smoother conversations and enabling users to easily differentiate between various speakers. The beta version is initially available on Android devices across the United States, Mexico, and India. Looking ahead, Google has plans to extend its availability to iOS systems as well as a broader range of countries and regions in 2026.
