Wu Xinhong, the CEO of Meitu, has announced that in response to the challenges posed by the AI era, Meitu is embarking on a significant organizational restructuring. This move aims to transition the company from a mid-sized corporate structure to a more nimble, startup-like team model. Meitu intends to split its workforce of over 2,000 employees into smaller, agile units and implement an AI Innovation Studio framework to foster internal competition, often referred to as "horse racing". Each studio will be comprised of no more than 10 members, who must demonstrate multi-faceted skills to develop products within a six-month timeframe. The company will allocate a base budget of up to 10 million yuan to each studio, with the flexibility to increase funding as necessary. Additionally, employees will be granted full autonomy along with mid-to-back-end support. Successful team members will be rewarded with profit-sharing incentives.
