Samsung Electronics Sets Up Nova AI Lab, Names Lee Kang-wook as Its Inaugural Head

Based on reports from pulse, Samsung Electronics has lately launched the Nova AI Lab and has chosen Lee Kang-wook, a 39-year-old executive director, to be its first-ever leader. Lee Kang-wook earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Prior to this role, he spearheaded the development of generative AI language and code models. The primary objective of the lab is to consolidate the company's AI research and development capabilities and propel Samsung towards becoming a worldwide frontrunner in large-scale AI models and services.
